What is Telehealth therapy anyway?


Telehealth sessions allow you to access expert care in the convenience of your home, office or just about anywhere you are. Many consults and education sessions do not require "hands-on" from your therapist and it can be helpful to see the environment you are in most of the time in order to adequately address any home or work environment limitations that may be contributing to current or ongoing issues. It can also be useful to train caregivers or staff to assist with home exercise programs and ensure proper mobility assistance in the home. We realize that sometimes it is difficult to travel to and from the clinic and we strive to bring you the best care possible, when and where you need it. Our evaluations are 60 - 90 minutes one-on-one with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy specialized in Brain Health and Movement Disorders. Sessions are conducted via secure video software that allows for sessions to be recorded and sent to the client for further review. This is a huge advantage over in person sessions! How many times have you gone to the doctor and forgotten what they said an hour later?? Now you can review it as many times as you like. If warranted, you will be provided a personalized exercise plan that will be sent to you via email after the session has concluded. Initial consultations will include: - Detailed review of your condition/symptoms and past medical history - In-depth assessment of your current cognitive and physical health to establish a baseline - Discussion of your overall therapy and wellness goals; this may include exericse and nutrition plans, mindfulness and meditation, need for referral to other specialists (pelvic floor, orthopedic, nutritionist, MDS, etc.) - Demonstration of exercise or mobility techniques via video chat with therapist - A detailed plan for optimal brain and body health with focus on neuroplasticity (Brain change and training to restore and improve cognitive and motor as well as non-motor skills)




Why don't you take my insurance?


Current insurance reimbursement forces most companies to co-treat multiple patients at once and often denies the optimal preventive and total up-to-date cutting edge care we at The Brain PT feel our clients deserve. We believe you deserve only the best and we refuse to allow an insurance company to dictate your care. We can easily prepare a Superbill for you, which will allow you to easily submit proof of your visit to your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that there is no guarantee of reimbursement.




Can I pay using my FSA or HSA account?


Yes!




Can I bill my insurance for reimbursement?


Again, this depends on your particular insurance plan but typically most private insurance patients can send in "self-claims" to their insurance company for their telehealth treatments. You should be able to print claim forms from your insurance company's website and send it in with the needed receipts (Superbill) and treatment codes that will be provided upon request from The Brain PT.com. The amount of reimbursement is completely dependent upon your particular insurance plan. These services are considered "out-of-network" physical therapy. *Medicare beneficiaries: Medicare does NOT reimburse for telehealth visits at this time. If you would like to use your Medicare benefits for therapy, you will need to inquire about in-person sessions. All telehealth visits will be out of pocket. Please note, there will be an additional form to sign for telehealth visits stating you are aware that Medicare does not consider it a covered service.
